The GNAS made the whole weekend extra fun with having music playing between each ends, and various YouTube videos have been posted with all the kids singing on mass! the whole weekend went down extremely well, and hopefully will encourage those first timers to go again. Grant won the Metric 1 on Saturday, and was runner up on the Sunday, shooting a York! Sophie was 3rd on the Saturday, shooting a Ladies FITA, and third again on the Sunday shooting a Hereford. Euronations - Matt will be shooting for England in the 2009 in both the Home nations and the Euronations tournaments this year |

| August 2008 |
Farewell! -
Chris Wells is leaving Crowthorne Archers as he is off to Warwick University to
study Ancient Civilisations. Chris joined Crowthorne as a Junior, and rapidly
progressed to become an international archery as a member of the GB Field
Archery team, and will again be representing his country at the World Field
Championships next month in Wales. We will all have our own distinct
memories of Chris, and we will all miss the exuberance that is Chris. He
is joining Lakeside archers, so he can continue to shoot for Berkshire. Good
luck at Uni! Crowthorne Juniors represented the county in two matches in August : Matt Brighton and Sophie Meering winning at the Tri Counties on 9th August, with Sophie and Robert Urquhart forming part of the Berks team that came a very credible third place at the Junior Intercounties the following weekend. Well done to Robert in his first outing for Berkshire! |

| July 2008 |
Crowthorne Nationals - the sun shone, the
buttercups(?) came out and our second Nationals Tournament was an even better
success than last year. Jane, Robert, and Harry won the inaugural Junior
team trophy, and Grant put nearly one hundred points onto his National record
from last year. Many thanks to all those who helped on the day, but especially
to Shirley, who organised it so well. Junior Nationals - 3 of our Juniors went to a very challenging weekend at Lilleshall on 5th and 6th July - Matt Brighton, Grant Ballentine and Sophie Meering. The weather on the Saturday (metrics) was truly awful - very windy and squalls! Despite this Grant saw off his opposition to win by a handsome margin. Sunday was only marginally better - less wind, but heavy showers intermingled with sun. Again Grant shone, and beat his nearest rival by 64 points to be U16 National Longbow Champion. Matt shot a Metric 2 and Bristol 2, whilst Sophie shot a ladies FITA and Hereford. Euronations - Sophie and Chris will be shooting for England in the 2008 Euronations tournament in Wales at the end of July. It will be Chris' last tournament as a Junior, and Sophie's 2nd year on England Euronations duty. |
